Following the recent urgent closure of a secondary school, the pupils from the school were relocated to other existing schools for the remainder of the summer term, but a new replacement school was urgently required for the beginning of the following school year. Leap was asked to assist with assessing the proposed site for the new replacement school and was able to respond rapidly, commencing work on the desk study immediately and carrying out an intrusive investigation of the site within a week of project start. The successful production of this contamination assessment enabled rapid regulatory sign off and allowed the project’s construction to continue unhindered. The new school was successfully opened on 14 September 2017 just 3 months after the closure.
