I am a Chartered Geologist with 15 years’ experience of geo-environmental and geotechnical ground investigation across the south-east UK. I have worked for LEAP since 2010 and now manage the South Coast and Thames Valley region. Day to day I oversee a team of engineers, geologists and environmental scientists carrying out a wide range of site work along with leading the business strategy and development for my region and I still get to go out and play in the mud.
During my time at LEAP, the company has grown from a small team in Dorking to a multi-regional company and continues to maintain the supportive, professional and technically competent ethos. This has created a great team to work with. Professional development is encouraged at LEAP and I am also secretary of the South East Regional Group of the Geological Society. With women making up only 12% of the UK engineering workforce, I think it is important to reach out and engage young geologists and engineers through STEM activities which are actively supported by LEAP.
