I graduated on Thursday with a first-class honours degree in Environmental Science from the University of Portsmouth, with an additional prize – the Dustscan Prize for best Applied Environmental Project 2019. I have also completed a placement year between 2017-2018 with Leap.
The project was conducted on a site in Aldershot, part of the Wellesley/ Aldershot Urban Extension set of sites. The site is one of the most contaminated within the AUE so presents quite a challenge for development!
In short, I took the data we recovered over a week’s work on-site to model the concentrations of gases and soil contaminants in respect to different end uses of land & human health receptors and then researched literature on possible remediation strategies for the concentrations we found.
I could not have done so well without the guidance and support of my South Coast office colleagues.
